Here is another recipe so simple it never occurred to me until recently to actually share it. This is for when you have strawberries on hand that you need to do something with, and you’re not feeling the ambition to make jam.
It’s literally just strawberries and sugar. The sugar pulls moisture out of the berries and creates its own syrup. You can put it on skyr/yogurt and/or granola like in the photo above, use it as a topping on ice cream or waffles, or just eat it straight with a spoon.
Strawberries (however many you want to use)
White granulated sugar (amount depends on the amount of strawberries)
Cut the tops off the strawberries and slice into small, relatively similarly sized pieces. Place in a bowl or sealable container and add enough sugar to cover the strawberries. Stir or shake (if you have a lid on the container) to coat.

Yes, this container is ancient and venerable. It has seen things.
Refrigerate overnight. It will take a few hours for the sugar to fully seep strawberry goodness out into the container, so just leave it alone to do its thing and enjoy your strawberries the next day.
